Take Center Stage Gala August Wilson
Take Center Stage Gala
November 7

On Saturday November 7, 2020, the Take Center Stage Gala will celebrate what would be August Wilson’s 75th Birthday year. This incredible evening will also feature the 50th Anniversary performance of Philadanco!, one of America’s premier African American dance ensembles and the dynamic trio, The String Queens.

The August Wilson African American Cultural Center in Pittsburgh gratefully acknowledges Take Center Stage Artistic Chair Constanza Romero Wilson, who along with Corporate Co-Chair Franco Harris, will lead this exciting event. We’re thrilled to announce our Host Committee Co-Chairs, Denise and Cain Hayes, who with support from our Legacy Co-Chairs, Judy and Ron Davenport, will help to make this a night to remember.

“A true cultural gem of Pittsburgh, the August Wilson African American Cultural Center has cemented itself as an architectural and artistic icon in our city, having weathered the ups and downs of the past 10 years it has reemerged stronger than ever.”
