Edidi’s take on the classic choreopoem for colored girls who considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf by the late playwright/poet/Black feminist Ntozake Shange, is “a celebration of Trans Women, Goddesshood, a lament for our fallen, a sword for our living and a challenge to white supremacy, structural oppression and any who would dare try to erase us from existence.”

The reading of the choreo drama will be followed by a discussion led by demaskus affiliate Amanda Van Story Lewis and playwright/performer Lady Dane Figueroa Edidi. A book signing will be held immediately following the discussion.

A project of New Sun Rising, the reading is presented in partnership with SisTersPGH, Garden of Peace Project and The Black Unicorn Library & Archives Project.
